IBUKA encourages private sector to support vulnerable genocide survivors

IBUKA, the umbrella association for Genocide survivor organizations has called upon Rwandans to be committed to supporting genocide survivors as one of the paths to the healing process.
Ibuka conveyed the message as Petrocom, SP and Rwanda Mountain Tea commemorated on 10th April 2015 five employees.

IBUKA vice president, Egide Nkuranga lauded the two companies for supporting vulnerable genocide survivors and mobilized private sector and investors to join the drive of restoring their hope.

The chief advisor of Petrocom, Societe Petroliere (SP) and Rwanda Mountain Tea business companies, Kabeja Allain said they gathered to remember employees of Ets Gatera Egide and others who perished during the genocide. He reminded everyone to resist genocide deniers and apologists so that it never happens again.

“We support many orphans in Ntarama village in Bugesera district which is a continuous act,” said Kabeja. The two companies which have over 250 employees have also offered jobs to many genocide orphans.
